Italian and American Playwrights Project is joining into a partnership with Fabulamundi Playwrighting Europe hosting the Italian author Pier Lorenzo Pisano on a translation residency in NYC

Pier Lorenzo Pisano will work with Adriana Rossetto on the translation of his play “Dopoguerra” at the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center.

On Friday March 29, 2019 the translation will be a “private session reading” by professional actors at the Italian Cultural Institute of New York. The reading is not open to the public but if you’d like to assist you can contact us asking to participate writing an email to Valeria Orani director@umanism.com

Pier Lorenzo Pisano was born in Naples. He graduated in Cultural Heritage in Venice, then specialized as an actor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama of London. He started working as an actor and assistant director for film and theatre productions, and as an editor on various projects including the documentary Torn, which was awarded a Nastro d’Argento and premiered at Venice Film Festival. He then graduated as a director at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (National Film School). His debut short movie As it is on earth was selected at Cannes Film Festival. He also broadened his interest in writing, receiving positive responses from the major Italian playwriting and screenwriting awards (Riccione - Tondelli Award, Hystrio Award, Solinas Award).
